Quarter 3, 2022

Save the Date

We are edging closer to the grand opening of our new Greensboro location. It has been a flurry of activity as equipment and people have made their way into the company’s new 49k square feet of space. There is still new equipment set to arrive in the next few weeks and prep to be done before the official reveal.

Please mark your calendars to join us for a ribbon cutting, tours and hors d’oeuvres on Thursday, November 10 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. as we celebrate the move to our new location. Look for your formal invitation to arrive in the next couple of weeks. We look forward to introducing you to our team and our expanded capabilities.

Employee Spotlight: Kenny Stanat & Garon Thomas

We’ve come to one of our favorite parts of this newsletter. The part where we get to shine the spotlight on, and introduce you to, our valued employees. This quarter, we’d like you to meet our estimator, Kenny Stanat, and our logistics coordinator, Garon Thomas. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, these men commit their individual best to our group effort, which is a big part of why their teams, and our entire company, work so well.

Meet Kenny Stanat, Estimator

Kenny has been with us for a little more than four years, during which time he’s moved up through the ranks rapidly. He began in the quality department, transitioned into the on-site quality lead, and two years ago advanced to the role of Estimator.

As estimator, and with the help of his business development team, Kenny puts together bid packages for various current and potentially new customers. The bid packages may include anything from landing gear components for large passenger planes to entry door assemblies for small business, and even simple assorted bushings. It’s never the same thing two days in a row and this, in fact, is one of Kenny’s favorite parts about working here. He feels he’s challenged daily, which paves the way for perpetual growth. Speaking of growth, Kenny is very excited about the new business the development team is aggressively pursuing, and says he’s extremely proud to serve under the company’s current leadership.

Kenny and his wife, Amy, have two adult children. Tim is a contracting painter in the Hartford area of Connecticut. Kara is a registered nurse and currently pursuing her master’s degree. When he’s not working, you’ll find Kenny riding his Harley-Davidson through the mountains of Virginia, visiting Myrtle beach with Amy whenever possible, or camping with their two adored dogs, Rosie and Bruno.

Meet Garon Thomas, Logistics Coordinator

Garon joined our team three years ago, and holds senior status within his current role of logistics coordinator.

He’s been an active member of culture change in the company, and is appreciative of the communication he experiences between leadership and team members. He’s thrilled that the new Greensboro facility will provide the opportunity to increase the volume of orders his team produces, as well as add equipment that will continue to improve turnaround time and increase capabilities.

Garon has watched as Summit has taken on new challenges as a group, aiming to expand their footprint in the aviation industry and beyond. He praises his team for their ability to adapt to the new wave of tech and innovation within the field, and he’s excited to see where this knowledge leads them. Garon believes their shared work ethic will allow them to reach a common goal in manufacturing the absolute best product.

His favorite part about working here is the family atmosphere. This comes as a surprise to no-one; family is his everything – his Priority Number One! In fact, in his spare time he enjoys traveling from state to state taking in different cultures and spending as much time with his family as possible.
